Synopsis
Una artista visual recibe financiamiento del estado de Chile para realizar una película de ficción sobre la precarización laboral en las artes visuales.
Abrumada por su falta de experiencia como cineasta, la directora decide transformar la película en un documental sobre la realización de dicha película. Para esto, filma a un grupo de sus amigos artistas, todas víctimas de la precariedad del sistema laboral del arte, mientras enfrentan eventos recientes de la historia de Chile: la derrota constitucional, los avances de la ultraderecha y la conmemoración de los 50 años del golpe de Estado.
A medida que transcurre el rodaje del ahora documental, la directora y su equipo registran las derivas de estos artistas, quienes buscan un lugar en el mundo laboral sin sacrificar sus pretensiones creativas. Mientras el acontecer de Chile sucede, los artistas buscan una respuesta al origen de su precarización. Ante su pesimismo, deciden repensar su quehacer con lo único que tienen: sus propios medios de producción artística.
Así, en un intento de responder a sus derivas existenciales, resolver sus problemas laborales y reflexionar sobre la relación entre la sociedad y los artistas, deciden en colectivo recrear obras de arte y eventos de la historia ocurridos en dictadura. Fracasan en todos sus intentos.
La película se transforma en un canal de televisión comunitaria del futuro, donde se transmiten obras de arte e intervenciones hechas por todas y todos quienes realizan el arte como un ejercicio de la vida cotidiana, sin pretensiones más que buscar la felicidad.

A visual artist receives funding from the Chilean state to make a fiction film about the precariousness of work in the visual arts.
Overwhelmed by her lack of experience as a filmmaker, the director decides to transform the film into a documentary about the making of the film. To this end, she films a group of her artist friends, all victims of the precariousness of the art labour system, as they confront recent events in Chilean history: the constitutional defeat, the advances of the ultra-right and the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the coup d'état.
As the filming of the now documentary unfolds, the director and her team record the drifts of these artists, who seek a place in the world of work without sacrificing their creative pretensions. As Chile's events unfold, the artists search for an answer to the origin of their precariousness. Faced with their pessimism, they decide to rethink their work with the only thing they have: their own means of artistic production.
Thus, in an attempt to respond to their existential drifts, solve their work problems and reflect on the relationship between society and artists, they collectively decide to recreate works of art and events in history that occurred during the dictatorship. They fail in all their attempts.
The film is transformed into a community television channel of the future, where works of art and interventions made by all those who make art as an exercise in everyday life, with no pretensions other than the pursuit of happiness, are broadcast.
